Butterfly Bow I & II are mixed media studies created in the midst of a heavily abstract period for me. After creating well over 100 abstract pieces very quickly, I was yearning to create form, something familiar. I came back to my ground of skulls with a little touch of a butterfly inspired by a thank you note from a recent online purchase. When you collect this piece and bring it into your space, or gift it to a loved one, that thoughtful note will continue its journey alongside mine. A little gesture of kindness can go a long way.
Painting skulls has become my home base. I am drawn to the visually high contrast, the absolute beauty they hold, and the symbol of unity within humans. At the end of it all, here is how we will be found. The same, yet unique in the details.
